NTA Releases TAScast Video Series
NTA Nina Olson participated in a series of TAScast videos, designed to outline important information for taxpayers. Economic Stimulus Payments
Starting in May, Treasury will begin sending economic stimulus payments to more than 130 million households across the nation. About the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS)
Mission statement: As an independent organization within the IRS, we help taxpayers resolve problems with the IRS and recommend changes that will prevent the problems.
- There is at least one local taxpayer advocate (LTA) in each state, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico
- As the leader of the TAS organization, the National Taxpayer Advocate is required by law to deliver two reports to Congress each year.
- As part of the larger TAS organization, the Office of Systemic Advocacy addresses broad issues that impact groups of taxpayers, including both individuals and businesses.
